The Verdict

  • The Good
  • Leading in-class performance
  • Good price/performance ratio
  • Supports all sockets
  • Mounting hardware for 3rd fan included
  • Fan hub with 4 connectors included
  • The Bad
  • Dimensions make installation tricky
  • Second fan not PWM-controlled
  • Incompatible with tall RAM heatsinks

Deepcool Neptwin proved to be a highly efficient CPU cooler, sharing first/second place with Scythe Ashura. Noise levels are on the low side, although, ideally, could be a couple decibels lower, at least that's that's what Ice Blade Pro V2.0 offers. Due to heatsink's huge dimensions, installation can be quite tricky. Long thin screwdriver is needed here. But the mounting system itself is convenient and secure. Even though Neptwin shows high class performance,  it's incompatible with DIMM modules with tall heatspreaders. Given the popularity of such modules, this might be a turn off for some enthusiasts. Neptwin boasts a rich bundle with mounting clips for 3rd fan, antivibrational fan pads and fan hub with 4 connectors. Given the recommended price of about $50, Deepcool Neptwin sound like a good deal. If you can find one, that is.
