Gigabyte announces custom, WindForce 3X 450W cooler-equipped, factory overclocked Radeon R9 290X and R9 290 graphics cards. R9 290X OC (GV-R929XOC-4GD) comes with GPU clock increased from 1000 MHz to 1040 MHz while R9 290 OC (GV-R929OC-4GD) receives a boost from 947 MHz to 1040 MHz core clock. Memory clock is left untouched at 1250 MHz (5 GHz effective) on both cards.
WindForce 3X 450W cooler is made up of two large but thin aluminum fin arrays connected by two 8 mm and four 6 mm copper heatpipes, and ventilated with three inclined fans. Heatsink features Gigabyte's Triangle Cool design. Cooler is of dual-slot height, which increases multi-GPU configuration support. Cards are fed through 6-pin and 8-pin PCI-E power connectors. Display connectivity is identical on both cards and includes HDMI, DisplayPort, dual DVI-D. Pricing and release date have not been revealed, however, it was reported earlier custom Radeon R9 290 cards would be released before custom R9 290X models.
