X2 Products, division of Spire, introduced a new high end CPU cooler. Eclipse IV is a completely revamped successor to the Spire Thermax (Thermax Eclipse, TME) series.
Eclipse IV (X2-9862N1-PWM) is a large tower type cooler with six 6 mm nickel plated copper heatpipes. Heatpipes are of U shape and are positioned in a line. Heatsink makes use of asymmetrical design for improved tall RAM heatspreader compatibility. Cooler's body is thick and dense, made of 45 aluminum fins and has a gap in the middle, making it sort of a dual tower cooler. Eclipse IV looks quite similar to Prolimatech Megahalems, however, it boasts unique design fins dented along the edges and has open sides. Cooler's base is made of nickel plated copper. Heatsink measures at 153 x 131 x 71 mm (height x length x width). Cooler weighs 996 grams. Whole heatsink is anodized and nickel plated.
Eclipse IV comes equipped with two 120 mm X2-12025N7L4-B-PWM fans. These are nano precision bearing fans with PWM controls, running at 800-2000 RPM. They have a MTBF rating of 70000 hours. Maximum airflow and noise are rated at 75.63 CFM and 24 dBA, respectively. Fans have a blue LEDs to add some eye candy and rubber corners to minimize vibrations.
X2 Eclipse IV can cool down CPUs with TDP of up to 220W and supports all modern sockets - Intel LGA775, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1150, LGA1366, LGA2011 and AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ sockets. It comes with Thermica SP431 thermal compound. Cooler is backed by 5 year warranty.
X2 Products Eclipse IV is priced at 59.95 USD / 44.95 EUR, excluding taxes.
