NVIDIA is rumored to release an updated version of GeForce GTX 780 graphics card. GTX 780 GHz Edition would feature GK110-300-B1 configuration graphics processing unit. This means GK110 GPU with 12 SMX units (2304 CUDA cores, 192 TMUs) and a new B1 version.
The card's GPU would run at 1006 MHz base clock with boost clock turning up to 1046 MHz. Other specifications should remain the same including 3GB of GDDR5 memory connected to GPU through 384-bit interface and running at 6008 MHz. Apart from higher stock clock, B1 revision GK110 silicon should provide better overclocking potential and lower power consumption for users, as well as higher yields for NVIDIA. Expreview reports GTX 780 GHz Edition being priced at 3999 Chinese Yuan, about 17% cheaper than standard GTX 780 at 4799.
Looking at performance figures of standard overclocked GeForce GTX 780, it becomes clear that at 1 GHz GPU clock it goes along the lines of GTX TITAN. That said, this situation is looking bizarre, at the very least. With GTX 780 Ti also coming up the plate early next month, this can get quite crowded and confusing. Not only GTX 780, GTX 780 GHz, GTX 780 Ti and GTX TITAN will compete against AMD's latest offerings, including R9 290X and R9 290, but they would most likely collide with each other as well thanks to huge prices gaps and slim performance differences.
