How We Test

Our SSD testing is targeted at real life performance measurement and final verdict is based on real world testing results. Additionally, for those number seeking enthusiasts, we do show some synthetic testing results as well. That said, our SSD testing procedures consists of both synthetic and real world performance testing. For synthetic speed testing we use a set of popular storage subsystem benchmarking software. This includes AS SSD Benchmark, CrystalDiskMark, ATTO Disk Benchmark and Futuremark PCMark 7. Real world benchmarks include different file size copying, software and game installation, updating, operating system boot time, game level loading time, archive extraction (decompression), antivirus scan and a large proportion Photoshop editing benchmark. All SSDs are tested in a clean Windows 7 environment, using latest Intel RST drivers.
