In our first test with i5 2500K running at 3.7 GHz, Scythe Ashura takes the lead with about 1°C improvement over Argon AR01. Running at auto fan speed, however, it falls behind.
Turning up the heat, we now see Ashura in lead with about 2°C improvement over Argon AR01. At low speed it once again falls behind.
Here we see something exceptional. In 4500 MHz overclock test Ashura manages to outperform Prolimatech Megahalems Rev C. and SilverStone Argon AR01 by a staggering 4.5°C at full speed. That's some killer performance right there. Though notice how sensitive Ashura is to fan speed. At lower speed it loses over 6°C of performance and falls behind Argon AR01 and Megahalems Rev. C running at full speed by about 2°C and comes close to Argon AR01 running at lower speed.
Subjectively, I'd say Ashura is very silent at low speed, but gets quite noisy at max RPM. GlideStream fan makes close to none mechanical noise, however, airflow can be heard clearly. That is not surprising considering the fan is pushing close to 100 CFM.
