Installation
Frostwin's mounting system uses universal backplate, which needs to be assembled before installation. Once the backplate is assembled using four standoffs and holders, it's positioned on the back of the motherboard. Four spacers are placed on the standoffs. On top of them two mounting brackets are placed and secured with nuts. Note that coolers using this mounting system can be installed both vertically and horizontally, depending on how holding brackets are installed. Of course, proper clearance with surrounding components, such as motherboard's VRM heatsinks, is required.
With brackets installed, apply thermal compound, put the heatsink on the CPU and secure it with a holding bar. This mounting system is often used by Deepcool and works very well. Fans are mounted using steel clips. With fans installed Frostwin V2.0 covers all but the last memory slot. That said, cooler is incompatible with tall DIMM module heatspreaders. Using three low profile modules and one tall module doesn't really make sense, does it?
